Vacation Rental Description

Very nice and pretty two floors beach house located in the small and  
peaceful Chicxulub Puerto, at the Yucatan Peninsula.  This wonderful  
home has a big terrace 200m2 (220 yards2), on the front right up the  
ocean, where the swimming pool is, with palm trees, beach chairs, a  
charcoal grill and 2 nice “granito” tables; perfect place to swim,  
make a BBQ, take the sun, look at the stars or just relax and enjoy  
looking at the panoramic view of sunrise and sunset.  The beach and  
ocean are right there, the beach is sandy and great for walking.   
There are neighboring houses that will not be occupied.  Another  
terrace is upstairs with ocean view as well and beach chairs.  Two  
bedrooms are upstairs, 1 with double bed 1 with king size bed, both  
with places for hammocks and roof ceilings, fully furnished, and the  
beds are in excellent condition.  
 
There is a cute colonial apartment connected to the house by a  
corridor (you can use it together with the house, or have it  
independent for visits of family and friends). 1 big room with  
complete bathroom and 1 double bed in excellent condition, another  
small room with a personal bed in excellent condition as well, a  
fully furnished studio-room with a bed-sofa, rattan table and  
chairs, kitchenette with complete set of dishes and silverware for  
four, microwave, toaster, very pretty decoration, and ocean front  
view with sliding door to go to the terrace or beach. 
 
Your home will be at Chicxulub Puerto, at 5 min. driving to downtown  
and 10 min. driving to Progreso.  In Chicxulub or Progreso (bigger),  
you can find the church, the post office, a bank with ATM, a  
hospital, drugstores, parks, the “Mercado” where you can buy  
vegetables, fruits, meat…, an American style supermarket, cyber  
coffee, and very nice restaurants offering excellent seafood right  
at the beach in the “malecon” (boulevard) of Progreso.  There is a  
small supermarket at 150m (165 yards) from home that is open 24/7.

- Laundry facilities at home (no laundry machines, there is a  
laundry pretty close to home) 
- Umbra parking for two cars 
- Palm trees all around property (more than 40) 
- The leasing agent, Jose, provides you with any information or help  
you may need during your stay.

Activities and Attractions

Being at Chicxulub, you are at 20 min. driving from colonial city of  
Merida, Yucatan, where you can find pretty much about anything, plus  
great colonial and mediterranean styles architecture on the “Paseo  
de Montejo” (principal avenue that crosses the city from north to  
south).  Cancun is 4 hours away east driving.  Archaeological sites  
as the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza and Uxmal are at 2 hours driving,  
Dzibilchaltun and X-Cambo are at 15 min. drive where you find great  
old Mayan structures, castles, “cenotes”, and classic colonial time  
towns with the big old church, the “mercado” and the “plaza”.  
 
There is an international airport in Merida and another one in  
Cancun which is cheaper to fly there, but many people drive down  
from Canada and the US.  Having a car can make things easier.  There  
is public transportation too (buses, vans and taxis), which you can  
use to move around in Progreso and Chicxulub, or to go to Mérida and  
move there. 
 
In Progreso there is the biggest pier of the world (8km long), and a  
nice beach boulevard (“el malecon”) full of restaurants offering  
great seafood and typical cuisine.  In all the places in Yucatan you  
will find friendly people and a peaceful atmosphere. 
 
In home you can find many pretty sea shells at the beach, lots of  
sun, and the sea breeze.  Enjoy a tropical environment, the sound of  
the ocean, the sun, the shadow of the palm trees, the stars, and the  
privacy and peace that only Chicxulub can offer.

Vacation Rental Rates

September to June:  USD $450 per week or USD $1700 per month 
Holy & Eastern Weeks: USD $1800 per both weeks 
Month of July:  USD $5,400 
Christmas & New Year's: USD $900 per week
