Our home, Namaste, is now listed for sale so we are only accepting
"last-minute" rental requests. Please contact us for rental availability
or for information on buying this property.

NAMASTE is a beautiful, well-maintained, newer two-storey home
with a beautiful, large Venetian-tiled kidney-shaped pool and
jacuzzi on the beachside next to a large covered terrace. We are
located in a quiet area of private beach homes on a safe, sandy
beach, just a 60 minute drive from the international airport in Merida,
15 km west of Progreso and 2 km east of Chuburna. The property is
completely walled and gated for privacy and all windows and doors
lock and have security bars for your personal safety.

The main house has three bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom and
walk-in shower. The master bedroom on the top floor has a king-size
bed and a huge covered terrace. The guest bedroom on the top floor
has a queen-size bed and two balconies. Another guest room on the
main floor has a queen-size bed. There is also a semi-detached
cottage with two single beds.

-Fully equiped kitchen with 6-burner gas stove and oven, microwave,
blender, drip coffee-maker, pots and pans, cookware, dishes,
glasses, cutlery, etc. to serve 10.
-Full-size refridgerator and a bar-size fridge.
-TV with satellite service in the living room (not currently connected. Available for long-term
bookings with a
surcharge. Please inquire).
-VCR and DVD player
-CD/Cassette player
-Fans in each bedroom and living room/dining room
-All linens, towels and beach towels provided
-Our caretakers, Felipe and Rita, live in a separate cottage on the
property and provide basic weekly house cleaning and laundry service
for linens. There is a washing maching, iron and ironing board for
guests own use for their personal laundry.
-Ask Felipe to cut you down a coconut from one of our trees so you
can make a great Pina Colada!

There are several Mayan ruins to explore only a short drive away as
well as caves and cenotes. The largest flocks of flamingos in North
America and their nesting grounds are nearby for you to see. In
Chelem, you can arrange guided boat tours and fishing trips.
Chuburna and Chelem are quaint, quiet fishing villages with a
variety of shops and many great little seafood restaurants (our
favourite is Costa Azul in Chelem). The beaches in the area are all
very safe and popular for swimming, suntanning, and jetskiing.
Progreso is a bustling port town of about 50,000 with the true
flavour of Mexico. You will find a grocery store, banks, hospital,
pharmacies, post office, a typical market, lots of great restaurants
and handicrafts. The beautiful 18-hole, par 72 Golf Club of Yucatan
is located between Progreso and Merida. Merida, a beautiful old
colonial city with a population nearing one million, has lots of
shopping including Costco and Walmart.

2008 Rates: (Minimum one-month rental)
January, February, April, May, June, September, October, November: $2,200 USD/month
March, July, August, December: $2,900 USD/month

Credit card payments are accepted through PayPal. 25% of the total
rental fee is required to confirm a reservation and the remaining
balance oweing (plus a $200 damage deposit) must be paid in full at
least one week prior to your arrival. Rates are for a maximum of 6
guests. A surcharge will apply for any additional guests.
