Property Description
If you enjoy a beautiful secluded white sand beach that you can walk
for miles, then Casa Danza welcomes you. Step off the patio to
swimming, windsurfing, shelling, and surfcasting in what the locals
call "Rooster Fish Alley."
Casa Danza is located on the East Cape near the unspoiled Mexican
town of La Ribera, 50 minutes east from the Los Cabos Airport (the
same airport that services Cabo San Lucas). The East Cape has miles
of swimmable and safe white sand beaches situated on the western
shore of the Sea of Cortez, one of the most intriguing and richest
bodies of water in the world. Two sea kayaks are supplied to explore
the magic of the Sea of Cortez.
The Sea of Cortez supports abundant sea life including the annual
birthing migration of numerous species of whales. If you want an up
close look at the sea life take the short drive to the National
Marine Park at Cabo Pulmo, the only living coral reef in the Baja,
and dive with the many species of tropical fish and sea lions.
Casa Danza is a brand new Mediterranean Villa featuring a circular
great room, modern kitchen, three large bedrooms, and huge marble
showers. There are beautiful views of the Sea of Cortez from almost
every room. The design of the great room with views of the sea and
mountains creates a unique peaceful and relaxing environment. Casa
Danza is the perfect spot to get-away, unplug, and enjoy a laid-back
Mexican vacation.
Blue water fishing is world-renowned in the Sea of Cortez. Marlin,
Sailfish, Wahoo, Tuna, and Dorado hold the allure of being larger
than life and potential world records are always a possibility. Have
Captain Ramon pick you up with his boat at 7:00 AM directly in front
of Casa Danza for a reasonably priced day of fishing. There are also
a number of options for boat charters from local hotels.
Surfcasting is literally just a step away. Enjoy the early mornings
and evenings surfcasting the beach for Rooster Fish, Lady Fish,
Pompano, Sierra, Jack Crevalle, and an occasional Dorado. If the
fish
are not biting, enjoy the Gulls, Pelicans, and Ospreys diving for
baitfish.
This relaxed authentic environment of the East Cape provides a "real
experience" of rural Mexico. The unspoiled Mexican towns of La
Ribera, Santiago, and Los Barriles offer a number of restaurants and
shops. Yet, for a taste of the big city life both Cabo and La Paz
are
an easy drive.
The magic of the East Cape is that little has changed from the vivid
characterizations captured in John Steinbeck’s "The Log of the Sea
of
Cortez" written in 1940.
Property Amenities
Casa Danza, a 4000 square foot Mediterranean Villa, was designed to
capture beautiful ocean views from virtually every room. The modern
full service kitchen will meet all your culinary needs and the
dining room features a large square table that seats eight. The large
circular “great room” has two separate seating areas to accommodate
different activities yet still provides ample room to dance under
the doom, the origin of Casa Danza’s name.
There are two separate air-conditioned bedroom wings featuring ocean
views with queen beds and huge marble showers. There is also a
studio area that can be utilized as an extra bedroom and an office
that provides a quite “get-away” space.
The oceanfront patio is a wonderful spot to sip a margarita and
watch the spouting whales or the Ospreys diving for baitfish.
Two sea kayaks are avaliable to explore the Sea of Cortez...the sea
is filled with magic.
A cook and housekeeper can be arranged for your stay at an extra
charge.
Activities and Attractions
Sea of Cortez: The Sea of Cortez is one of the most intriguing
bodies of water with incredible sea life. You will see and experience
a wonderful world of discovery here in the Baja. Take the sea kayaks
out to explore.
Sunrises and Sunsets are most amazing at Casa Danza with the shades
of the Sea changing to compliment the sky and wind.
Beach…very swim-able and safe (except in very high seas). Walk, walk
and walk…there are miles for you to cover. The dunes adjacent to the
Sea are a stunning example of nature’s artistry. Lots to explore
here. Doves, Road Runners, Quail, Ospreys and lots of other little
critters will greet you on your journey.
Fishing: Fishing depending on the season is just a cast away from
our beach. The rocky point accessible from the arroyo between Playa
Colorada and Punta Colorada is perfect for surf fishing and
snorkeling. Lighthouse Point with a protected harbor (3 miles beyond
Punta Colorada) is also an excellent surf casting spot.
Deep-sea fishing is world-renowned here. Marlin, Sail Fish, Wahoo,
Tuna, and Dorado always hold the allure of being larger than life
and potential world record makers. Boat charters can be arranged from
area hotels or local charters such as Ramon Castro (he will pick you
up at Casa Danza beach.)
Whale Watching, Diving, Shelling: Another option in the whale-
birthing season (January-April) is to charter a boat per above and
go whale watching. Snorkeling and Diving at Cabo Pulmo’s National
Marine Park offers the opportunity to experience the only Coral Reef
in the Sea of Cortez. Shells of all different shapes and sizes can be
found at Lighthouse Point (see above).
Four Wheeling, Wind Surfing, Surfing, Golfing: Rental of four
wheelers is available in Los Barielles (20 minutes north). From
there you can ride for miles and explore the mountain trails. Beach
access is strictly prohibited.
Not for the faint of heart is Wind Surfing when currents and wind
conditions prevail. Los Barielles is the windsurfing capital of the
world and arrangements can be with numerous rental locations or
instructors.
Surfing is available south of San Jose Del Cabo. Watch for the
breakers and boards on the shore road to Cabo.
World-class golf is available at a number of courses located between
San Jose Del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas.
Local Attractions: LaPaz, the capital city of Baja California Sur,
is a very traditional charming city located about 1 ½ hours north
that makes an interesting day trip. It is located on a beautiful
harbor with many cafes, hotels and shops. The new Marina and Harbor
are a must see. Find a place to park near the harbor and take a
walking tour of the old section of LaPaz.
San Jose Del Cabo is just south of the airport and offers a variety
of dining experiences and quaint shops. New coastal marina is being
constructed here.
Cabo San Lucas is your location for nightlife and the busy activity
of a well-established deep harbor city.
“Dancing under the Dome: Most noteworthy is “Dancing under the
Dome”; the origin of Casa Danza’s name allows for a sense of magic
that makes all feel welcome and free to be one with the Sea.
