Vacation Rental Description

Casa Walker is a beautiful, 2 bedroom, 3 bathroom colonial townhouse  
in the Santiago neighborhood of Merida, Yucatan.  The safest neighborhood in Merida. 
Completely furnished with period and art deco furniture, unique  
lighting and new ceiling fans in every room. A newly renovated patio area, with a 14 foot X 6 foot  
cooling plunge pool and fountain.  This is in ready to  
move in condition, with original tile floors, 18 foot ceilings in  
main part of the house, beautiful iron work, screens on every  
window, freshly painted walls, etc. Just bring  
yourself to this easy to maintain and enjoy the pleasures of Merida.  
The master bedroom has king size sized bed, with new mattress and  
custom made platform frame. The air conditioned master bedroom also  
has private patio with outdoor shower, dressing room, and private  
bathroom. New sheets, complete set of towels, pillows, and hammock.  
The guest bedroom has 2 matrimonial (double) beds, hammock, and  
private, full bathroom.  
The kitchen includes a refrigerator, 6 burner  
stove and oven, microwave, an antique glass door hutch with complete  
set of dishes, antique farm table, cabinets and shelves.  
(all cooking utensils, flatware also included)  
The kitchen opens into a 700 sq. ft. outdoor patio with a hand made  
Ticul marble outdoor dining table and Italian cafe chairs.

Vacation Rental Amenities

The house is complete, 20 inch flat screen TV(basic cable  
TV included, but broadband internet is extra), Char-Broil outdoor grill.  Incredible outdoor shower  
off the private bedroom patio, and an awesome 
rooftop patio.  The rooftop patio is perfect for catching the  
breezes, and is accessed by a wrought iron spiral staircase off of  
the guest bedroom.   Laundry service on Calle 72, 1/2 block away.  
In by 9:00AM, out by 4:00pm for $2.00 (US) for 6  pounds) Internet  
cafe (have fresh squeezed OJ while checking your e-mail) also on  
Calle 72, 1/2 block from house.  Maid service is available.

Activities and Attractions

Casa Walker is 5 minutes from Santiago Park, where you can enjoy  
salsa music every Tuesday night.  It is a 10 minute walk to Paseo  
Montejo, or to the Zocalo (Plaza Grande).  No need for a car, the  
bus to the central market stops on the corner next to the house.   
Walk 3 blocks and take a bus for $1.25 to the beach in Progreso.  If  
you want a place in the White City, that is convenient to  
everything, and has the rustic, colonial charm that Merida is famous  
for, and has the comforts of modern living, this is it.

Vacation Rental Rates

If you cannot access the calander, please note the house has booked up for most of the next 6 months. 
The available periods are:   
Only the week of Christmas 2008 (12/21 to 12/28), we are going away that week. 
The monthly rent depends on the time of year, please e-mail us with your dates. 
Again, the house is not available until March of 2009, other than the week of Christmas 2008. 
A $500.00 refundable security deposit required when rented for one  
month.
