Property Description
Yelapa is a small fishing village situated on a lovely quiet cove off
Banderas Bay about 45 minutes south of Puerto Vallarta by water taxi.
Looking at a road map you will not see Yelapa, there no roads, there
are no cars. Lots of horses, mules, and burros, friendly people, and a
beautiful beach. Enjoy a tranquil vacation in a traditional Mexican
pueblo.
These beautiful apartments are just three of 14 vacation homes owned
by the Garcia family. The building is located on the main beach in
Yelapa, close to all restaurants and stores. The view from the Vista
del Rio apartments is breathtaking.
The photos are of Vista del Rio #1 which has one bedroom with a queen bed and another
queen on
the covered patio. The bathroom is beautifully tiled. We offer a fully
equipped kitchen with all you need to prepare your meals, including
coffee machine and blender.
Vista del Rio #2 has two private bedrooms with queen size beds, a
fully equipped kitchen, lovely tile bathroom, and offers the same
beautiful views.
Both apartments have outdoor covered dining areas overlooking the
beach, and plenty of seating. Both have a hammock by the sea.
Associated with these apartments is another called Mosaica, because of
the interesting tile work. It is a two-bedroom apartment which can be
joined with Vista del Rio #1 to make a three private bedroom, 2 bath, 2
kitchen suite. With the beds out front you could sleep 10 people
there. What a great place for a large family gathering!
Property Amenities
Bottled water and fans are provided as well as all linens, towels, and
other basics.
Maid service is provided once a week, additional service can be
arranged at time of booking.
Yelapa has several well-stocked grocery stores. Many restaurants are
open between October and May, some are open all year, especially on
the main beach.
Activities and Attractions
You may chose to simply kick back in your hammock and listen to the
sound of the sea. Or walk on the beach - you can relax on your
own on the south side of the beach or you can choose a lounge chair on
the beach in front of one of the restaurants on the north side.
Swimming or snorkeling in the warm ocean is a favorite form of
recreation. Kayaks are available for rent.
Take a short, paved hike to the lovely jungle waterfall above town
where you can enjoy a drink or a meal. On the way you can visit the
rosewood factory and watch while they make gorgeous plates, bowls, and
other useful items from this precious wood. Only dead rosewood trees
are harvested for this work.
Or take a longer, more rugged hike up the Tuito river to the
"cathedral" waterfall. Horses are available for rent at the beach and
in the pueblo.
Take a private boat tour with Luis Garcia to Las Tres Marietas
Islands and see the blue-footed boobies, you may see whales or
dolphins on the way. Luis can also take you deep sea fishing. Luis is
fully licensed for aquatic tourism and is one of the few that have
special permission to access the protected Las Tres Marietas Islands.
I would be happy to make any special reservations for boating or
fishing trips.
Twice a week disco dancing at the Yacht Club.
Yoga classes, birding tours.
