Vacation Rental Description

The Elefante Volador house is situated within a beautiful and remote area.  
There are no nearby neighbours and the property is surrounded only by  
 uncontaminated wild nature. The property is composed by 2 buildings (block A and block  
B) and a 'palapa' for open air living. 
 Block A features:on the ground floor 
kitchen with gas stove and sink, two refrigerators and fully stocked cooking  
 implements, dishes, glasses etc. Italian coffee maker and blender also  
 provided. Please note that there are no oven nor microwave or toaster (they  
collapse the electric system). 
small living room with stereo, book shelfs etc. 
An internal staircase connects living and upstairs bedroom. 
 
on the mezzanine floor 
bedroom with queen bed, bathroom with cold and hot water. Please note that  
no toilet paper or paper items can be disposed of in any of the  toilets in  
the house. Paper refuse can only be disposed of in the provided waste baskets.  
Also, no hairdryer use is allowed in this property. Both, shower and bedroom  overlook the  
the beach. From the bedroom you can access the outdoor terrace. 
 
Block B features:on the ground floor 
two bedrooms (each one with a queen bed) with view of the sea. 
a bathroom with a hot/cold water shower and jungle view.  
 
The Palapa: 
It is an outside living room and the real heart of the house. Here you can read, talk, relax  
and sleep on the hammocks under the palm trees. 
There are 72 meters of private beach on a desert bay which is about 2 km long.

Vacation Rental Amenities

The house site is 45 minutes drive from tulum pueblo; just entered the pueblo turn right  
towards boca paila, then left following sian ka’an indications. At the reserve arch just ask  
for punta yum yum lote 19, casa elefante volador. You’ll be allowed to pass totally toll- 
free. 
The beaten earth road can sometimes be uneven, depending on the rains and the fixing  
local times: a jeep is strongly recommended. We’ve got a Beetle but we’re so witty and  
good-driving.  
The first time it really seems a long trip, but you can enjoy the sorrounding view (actually  
it’s only 25 kilometer far from the pueblo). After the boca paila bridge (just where the sea  
gets in shaping the lagoon) try making a stop and watch on the right: it’s easy to see  
crocodiles. And if pelicans sometimes block your passage, don’t worry: just hoot, and  
they’ll let you pass through. 
After 4.5 kilometers you’ll find the elefante volador.

Activities and Attractions

Herons, pelicans, frigate birds and iguanas are daily guests, as well as panchita and  
chakeron, illustrious half-breed mayan dogs. 
Form May to September, world’s biggest tortoises come and lay down their eggs on the  
seashore. About 24 of them do that on our beach! 
 
About 15 minutes North the house you can rent a boat to visit the lagoon and watch  
crocodiles, sea cows, flamingos, eagles and mayan ruins.

Vacation Rental Rates

The rental cost of the house is 300/400 US dollar per night. There is a minimum 4  nights  
stay. 
The price includes water, gas, fresh towels and sheets, cleaning and cooking 
services until 4.30 p.m. If you require dinner service it can be arranged by  asking the  
caretakers . Groceries are not included, but  you can shop at San  
Francesco's or Mar Caribe or Tulum pueblo.
