Vacation Rental Description

Villa Cynthia is a recently renovated 2 bedroom fully furnished  
house sitting on an acre of treed,landscaped and fully fenced lot  
right on the beautiful white sandy beach in Chelem.Wide porch to  
have a party,watch the waves,cruise ships that sail by and the  
dolphins.Hot water,2 full baths,full security on the doors and  
windows,built-in wet bar,fine furniture and new kitchen  
appliances.Also available is a 2 car garage to shield your car from  
the heat.2 queen size beds and hammocks can be made available to you 
(at reasonable price).We own 4 beach front houses in this area all  
fairly close to each other and we rent them out.We can cater for  
your wedding, anniversary or other parties.Special discount can be  
negotiated in those circumstances.All 4 houses are listed on this  
site, so look for them.We can arrange catering if needed. 
Getting There is easy.Fly from your home to Houston and from Houston  
it is a 90 minute flight to Merida.Then rent a car in Merida airport  
as driving around is very easy.The roads are numbered east to  
west in even numbers and north to south in odd numbers.A taxi ride  
from Merida to Chelem is your alternative. 
Television provided free.Internet provided for an extra charge.

Vacation Rental Amenities

Chelem is a fishing town of 6000 people located 10 minutes drive  
west of Progreso which is the harbour city of 50000 people.Merida  
is the capital city of Yucatan and has a population of 1  
million.It is a 30 minute drive away.Chelem has a few small stores  
for daily supplies and a few nice seafood restaurants.Major shops  
including Walmart,Costco,Staples,MacDonalds etc are available in  
Merida and Progreso.Golf course is about 15 minutes from  
Chelem.This part of Mexico is very friendly with a family atmosphere  
and virtually devoid of crime.The ocean is great for swimming,  
snorkeling, fishing, boating etc. 
Enjoy your private beach and sunbathe or play beach Volley-ball.Very  
long and wide beach for you to explore.Petra is a very nice Mexican  
lady who speaks English and Spanish and is your caretaker.She is  
always eager to help and can be reached 24/7 on her cell phone.

Activities and Attractions

Enjoy a relaxed lifestyle on the beach.Play golf at the excellent  
golf course.Go on a boat ride.Watch Dolphins and Flamingoes.Enjoy  
fresh seafood and Petra will send the fisherman right to your  
doorstep if you ask her.Enjoy the coconuts in your backyard.Merida  
comes to life every Saturday night with singing and dancing in the  
downtown streets till 4 am.Enjoy it all while sitting on the side of  
the street in open air restaurants or bar.Visit Mayan ruins at  
Chitzen Itza recently designated as one of the seven wonders of this  
world.Experience the boardwalk of Progreso about 1 km long and lined  
by fine restaurants and stores.There you will also see the longest  
pier in the world projecting an estimated 7 kms into the ocean.Visit  
the Cenotes which are underground caves with crystal clear water for  
you to bathe in.Visit Chixulub the site of the historic meteor that  
hit the earth millions of years ago and ended the dinosaur  
dynasty.Food and drinks are cheap.

Vacation Rental Rates

September to June: $350 USD/week or $1300 USD/month 
July to August:    $650 USD/week or $2200 USD/month 
 
Major Credit cards are accepted and also payment through Paypal. 
Make your reservations with $50.00 deposit and the balance is  
payable anytime before your stay.After receiving your booking  
request I will email you an invoice which you can pay by credit card  
or paypal.Once the deposit is received the booking calendar will  
reflect your booking on our website.The caretaker will ask you for  
$200 damage deposit when she shows you into your house and return  
that money to you when you depart.
