Dozens of shops sell pottery, jewelry, leather goods, glassware, inexpensive jewelry, hand embroidered clothing and colorful Mexican handicrafts. A two-story patio restaurant located in the center of town usually has live entertainment. Visit the historic Yuma Territorial Prison Museum, where more than 3,000 desperados were imprisoned during the prison’s 33-year existence between 1876 and 1909. The Los Algodones Office of the Baja California Tourism is conveniently located on the right side of the road as you enter Algodones. It offers information about the town and other communities and attractions in Baja California, as well as information on routes and road conditions. Algodones is easy to reach, and once there it’s fun to walk around and explore the shops. Everything in this small town is within walking distance, so you wont need a car or taxi.
