Colima Vacation Rentals, Condos, Villas and Beach Rentals
Colima
is a city of approximately 130,000 residents located in the state of Colima, which is the third smallest of Mexico’s 32 states. Colima City is the state’s capital city and is located 64 miles (103 kilometers) northeast of Manzanillo and about two and a half-hours from Guadalajara. Colima is known as the “City of the Palms,” and is situated in the center of a wide valley below the peaks of two volcanoes – one active and one dormant. The volcanoes dominate the landscape surrounding the city. There is a little bit of everything for everyone in Colima – great restaurants, museums, theater, beautiful parks and gardens and recreational activities. The Parque Regional Metropolitano contains a small zoo, swimming pool, lake with boat rentals and an indoor theater. The tourism office is located near the main plaza in Colima and is a good place to start your exploration. The staff in the tourism office speaks English and they have free maps, brochures and other information, such as schedules of exhibits and theater performances. The Pacific Ocean is less than an hour’s drive from Colima, and nearly 100-miles (160-kilometers) of coastline are within the state, with beaches ranging from silky white sands to black volcanic sand.
