La Ribera Vacation Rentals, Condos, Villas and Beach Rentals
La Ribera
is a small village located along Highway 1 approximately fifty miles from San Jose del Cabo on the Baja California Peninsula. This unspoiled Mexican town lies along the East Cape of the Sea of Cortez, which offers miles of swimmable and safe white sand beaches. One of the richest bodies of water in the world, the Sea of Cortez supports an abundant variety of sea life, including the annual migration of numerous species of whales. The National Marine Park at Cabo Pulmo, which is the only living coral reef in the Baja, is just a short drive from La Ribera. Other activities in or near La Ribera include fishing, snorkeling and diving, boating, sailing, beachcombing for shells, windsurfing and golf. Swimming off the beaches on the Pacific side of the peninsula can be dangerous due to swift sea currents and powerful waves, so caution is advised. It is also illegal to drive on the beaches of Mexico. La Ribera is an authentic Mexican town that provides a real experience of rural Mexico – relaxing, unhurried, inexpensive and enjoyable. There are a number of restaurants and shopping in town, but you wont find convenience stores or fast food restaurants on every corner. However, if you get a yearning for big city life, Cabo San Lucas and La Paz are an easy drive away.
