Los Ayala
is located approximately 20 minutes north of Sayulita and just 5 minutes south of Rincon de Guayabitos. The wide, two-mile long, sandy beach at Rincon de Guayabitos offers jet skiing, wind surfing, snorkeling, kayaking, and fishing, and boat rides and lunch trips to the offshore island can be found at the south end of the beach. The north end is much less crowded and is lined with luxurious hotels and oceanfront mansions. Local buses are available that will take you on a ten minute drive to the neighboring town of La Penita, where quite a selection of items can be found at the local public market. Also, every year in February the town of Rincon de Guayabitos celebrates the Tournament of Sport Fishing of the SailFish. Nearby Sayulita is a fishing village that seems untouched by time with its cobblestone streets, white sand beaches and mountains and lush jungle as a backdrop. Sayulita offers weekly dances, rodeos and several charming seaside restaurants that feature locally caught fresh seafood. If you desire more action, Puerto Vallarta is a short drive down the Bay from Los Ayala and offers world class golf courses, fine restaurants, shopping and nightlife.
