Mexico City Vacation Rentals, Condos, Villas and Beach Rentals

Mexico City is both the oldest and the highest city on the North American continent, and with a population of 24 million, it is also the largest city in the world. If you are worried about pollution in such a huge city – don’t be – strict regulations in recent years has led to cleaner air, and the city has some of the bluest, clearest skies anywhere, especially in summer and fall. Two volcanoes and a pyramid complex surround Mexico City, which was once the center of the Aztec civilization. Today, it is Mexico’s business, cultural and culinary hub. It has been a culinary capital ever since the time of Moctezuma, and today has over 15,000 restaurants. You’ll find everything from simple family fare to five-star, world-class restaurants. The principal sights in Mexico City fall into three main areas. The Zocalo is all about history, with its exotic ruins, public buildings and museums. The Bosque de Chapultepec is the largest park in the city and a nice refuge from the traffic and concrete. It contains a lake, an amusement park and even a castle. Finally, the Colonia Condesa is a mix of galleries, fashionable clothing shops, restaurants and sidewalk cafes, and is a perfect place to relax from a hectic day of sightseeing. Mexico City can be a bit overwhelming to first time visitors, but it is a fascinating place, where centuries upon centuries have crafted and shaped into the metropolis it is today.

Mexico City Weather & Climate

South-Central Mexico,  in the area surrounding Mexico City, has an altitude of 7,240 feet above sea level. Due to this altitude, the region enjoys a cooler climate than the coastal areas, which is often a much-welcomed relief to visitors after exposure to the heat of the coastal cities and resorts. However, keep in mind that temperatures will become hotter and more humid the further south you travel and into the lower elevations. In general it is a dry region, although the summer months of June through September bring short spells of heavy rain on most afternoons. Winters are sunny and dry, and evenings can get cool, especially in the winter months. In general, there is not a large variation in temperature year round, only in precipitation.
