Mision Viejo
is a gated community that sits between two large, beautiful white sand dunes and overlooks the Pacific Ocean. Just 45 minutes from downtown San Diego, this secluded, lovely spot is just twenty minutes to either Rosarito or Ensenada. The drive to either town is along a gorgeous, oceanfront highway. There are two world-class golf courses located near Mision Viejo, as well as many restaurants and shopping. Outdoor Recreation in the area includes swimming, sunning and shelling, surfing, boogie boarding, windsurfing, horseback riding, hiking, birdwatching and whale and dolphin watching. Fox Studios is nearby, and the area has become a popular Hollywood-filming site, where the movie, “Titanic” was filmed in 1996. The town of Rosarito has lots of shops and restaurants featuring international cuisine, and is known for its’ wild nightlife, especially during Spring break. Ensenada is a popular cruise port, and has a colorful waterfront with an indoor-outdoor fish market. Ensenada is also home to one of Baja’s oldest wineries (open for tours,) and is host to many international special events, such as the Baja 100 Off-Road Race.
