Oaxtepec Vacation Rentals, Condos, Villas and Beach Rentals
Oaxtepec
is located in peaceful Morelos State, approximately one hour south of Mexico City in Central Mexico. Also known as “the Heartland” of Mexico, this is a region of colonial towns and history, whose residents lead quiet, largely traditional lives. Hiking and walking is popular in the Oaxtepec area, with its rolling hills, farmland, lakes and surrounding Indian villages. It is an area renowned for its folklore and folk crafts, especially ceramics and lacquerware. One of the most pleasing aspects of the region is its climate – it rarely gets overly hot, even in the middle of summer, and although winters can get nippy, they are generally temperate. The rainy season is strongest in July and August. Pre-Hispanic and colonial monuments are in the area, and cultural festivals and religious events abound. Nearby Guanajuato’s three-week-long International Cervantes Festival brings actors, musicians, and artists to town, and in November, the town of San Miguel holds a Jazz Festival International. Tourism is welcomed in Oaxtepec and it’s an interesting area to tour by car.
