Puerto Salina
, also called La Salina, is located approximately 30 minutes from the border at San Diego, halfway between Rosarito and Ensenada. Or, about 73 km south of the border on the Toll Road from Tijuana, at the exit between La Fonda and Baja Mar. Puerto Salina is centrally located on the Baja peninsula and is a great area for tourists. This gated community sits on a beautiful stretch of wide beach and a large estuary. It is said that you will not find a wider beach all along Bajas “Gold Coast.” Puerto Salina is a quiet, peaceful community with a collection of homes that are modest in size, many of them sit right on the beach or just back from the beach. It is still a sleepy village, where the beach is usually not crowded. Puerto Salina is a great place to kick back and relax – and if you get in the mood for more action, the towns of Rosarito Beach and Ensenada are just a short drive up the coast. A new marina in Puerto Salina will be the closest Baja marina to the United States, and camping facilities are north and south of the community (that vary from basic to very luxurious.) Paragliding is popular in the Puerto Salina area, and other activities include swimming, sailing, boating, golf, sunning, beachcombing and just hanging out at the beach.
