Tijuana Vacation Rentals, Condos, Villas and Beach Rentals
Tijuana
, located just a few miles south of San Diego, is one of the most visited foreign cities in the world. In recent years, the city has added a new civic center and new shopping malls, but the infamous “Avenida Revolucion,” has long been the main tourism zone of Tijuana. This strip is lined with an array of shops and restaurants, where shopkeepers call out from their doorways, enticing visitors with their low prices for souvenirs and genuine treasures. The atmosphere is always in high gear, but browse at your own pace. You will find everything from colorful blankets, baskets, and hand-carved trinkets to things such as the finest Austrian crystal in the world. An eight-block strip of stores, stalls and arcades are filled with bargains from all over the world. But, there are other things to do in Tijuana besides shop. Some of the city’s other attractions include dog and horse racing, bullfighting, fishing, whale watching and great restaurants. One treasure that most tourists never discover is the “Mercado Hidalgo,” located just five minutes from the border. It’s a true Mexican market where locals buy their own specialty items such as a large variety of chilies, spices, Mexican candies, grains and hand-carved Mexican cooking utensils. Tijuana has an international airport, and a fine cultural center that presents music, dance and theater groups. The city’s raucous nightlife has earned it the nickname “Sin City,” however there are classier nightclubs found in the Zona Rio area.
