Tlaxcala Vacation Rentals, Condos, Villas and Beach Rentals
Tlaxcala
is the historic capital city of the state of the same name, and is located approximately an hour from Mexico City in central Mexico. It’s a growing city with increasing modernization, however it still retains its small town, colonial charm. Tlaxcala has a tranquil beauty and is a great place from which to explore the central part of Mexico. On weekends in Tlaxcala, locals gather at the main square to listen to local bands, and a “school dance” atmosphere prevails. Tlaxcala is a very walkable city, and the tourist office gives inexpensive tours of Tlaxcala and its “senorios” (Pre-Hispanic warrior cities.) This area surrounding Tlaxcala will surely intrigue archaeology buffs, who will want to explore the state’s now deserted convents and well-preserved ruins of Cacaxtla and Xicotencatl. Tlaxcala also has museums, art galleries and a cultural center that provide an authentic look at Mexico’s Heartland. Tlaxcala has comfortable lodgings, and it’s hard to go wrong when choosing a good place to eat in town. Tlaxcala’s specialties include chicken stuffed with fruits and other meats, and an unrefined alcoholic drink made from the maguey cactus. Many of Tlaxcala’s restaurants and bars feature live music and outdoor seating, making your stay here a delightful culinary treat.
