Xcalak Vacation Rentals, Condos, Villas and Beach Rentals

Xcalak is the place to go if all you want is deserted white sand beach, warm sun and peace and quiet. This village is located on the southern end of La Costa Maya, along a stretch of idyllic coast that runs from Mahahual to Xcalak. It provides visitors with a pretty good idea of what Cancun looked like over 40 years ago. Xcalak is the southern most community on the narrow peninsula that extends south from the Sian Kaan’Biosphere Reserve. A small, seaside fishing village, Xcalak offers beach bungalows for rent, intimate hotels and inns, fine restaurants and affordable deep-sea fishing. The pristine, palm lined beaches and clear, turquoise waters are perfect for swimming, snorkeling and sunning. Nearby is the Banco Chinchorro, Mexico’s largest atoll and a snorklers dream, where fish, turtles, and a multitude of corals coexist with the second-largest shipwreck site in the world. There is no traffic in Xcalak, no crowds, no bright lights or discos - just bright sunshine, dazzling white sand, and warm breezes. Swing in a hammock and take a nap, or star gaze. Or read a good book, stretched out beneath a palm with the ocean at your feet. In Xcalak, you can fish the reef, go diving or swimming – or do nothing at all. You wont feel rushed or crowded, and isn’t that what vacations are all about?

Xcalak Weather & Climate

Mexico's South-Central  region has a climate will be similar to that in Central Mexico, with elevated areas being cooler and more temperate. The climate gets distinctly hotter and more humid as you travel deeper into the south / southeast and the Yucatan Peninsula. As you reach the cities located within the Yucatan, proximity to the coast determines the temperature and humidity. In summer, coastal areas stay cooler due to trade winds, while interior jungles are humid, with higher temperatures. March and April are the driest months and September is generally the wettest month. Rainfall usually comes in short, sharp bursts and cools the atmosphere a little. The hurricane season is June to October. For those visiting in summer, July is generally drier and more predictable than August.
